Senior Draftsman - Nuclear

Under general supervision, with wide latitude for planning or laying out of working details, must be able to perform responsible and difficult work in drafting requiring a thorough knowledge of configuration management practices and methods, be able to make difficult working drawings and diagrams, reconcile drawings and change document disagreements and must be qualified to do the following and related work as assigned:
Check working drawings and fabricating details.
Check Control Room redline drawings.
Check and review manually prepared and computer generated drawings.
Resolve conflicts with multiple change documents depicting different drawing configurations, through meetings with engineers, preparation of Modification Requests, Field Change Notices, or Document Change Notices.
Determine which drawings are affected by a specific plant modification through an understanding of the drawing structure and interrelationships at River Bend Station.
Download and plot computer-generated drawings from the host.
Make quantity and material estimates and schedules.
Lay out control or other diagrams, schematics, or other drawings by assembling into one coordinated unit, information secured from various sources.
With information furnished by others, draw wiring and mechanical layouts, curves, graphs, charts, maps, etc.
Direct work of others when authorized.
Instruct and train other employees.
Must have qualified and worked four years as a Draftsman - Nuclear or have had the equivalent experience in related work and have all qualifications of the previous classification.
Must have ability to exercise technical judgment and skill, and do work requiring sound practical experience along engineering and construction lines.
Have a thorough knowledge of business English and spelling and the principles and practices of mechanical drawing, strength of materials, and general mathematics.
Be able to draw all wiring and piping diagrams and plans as related to River Bend.
Have a thorough working knowledge of electrical circuits and equipment piping systems.
Be particularly alert in observing hazards and avoiding accidents.
Know location of and be able to operate all of the firefighting equipment. Know what kind of equipment to use on electrical, oil and other fires.
Be willing to attend and take part in safety meetings.
Be willing to work under unusual surroundings, as well as the normal working conditions pertaining to this job.
Be willing to work irregular or extra hours as required.
Be able to receive and transmit orders and instructions in such a manner as to inspire respect and confidence of both superiors and subordinates.
Have a temperament suited to jobs where manual dexterity, precision and patience are particularly essential.
Be especially neat, clean and orderly in work and person.
Be able to meet the public in a pleasant and tactful manner.
Understand importance of always rendering and maintaining first class, courteous service to all customers.
Successful completion of the EEI TECH Test.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
